I came here on a whim craving soft tofu soup. The restaurant seems solid and authentic. Mostly everything we ordered was good except for the soup, which really lacks flavor. It was very bland. I sent it back and it returned better, but still not good. We love their kimchi. It's one of the best. The service was friendly. Nothing crazy about the ambiance.

Great authentic food. I love that they bring the small plates/toppings and will refill them for free. I had the squid stone pot dish and it was phenomenal!!

I've been here two times. Both times good, though second time we had to put up with some very loud patrons the entire time we were there - though that's not the restaurant's fault. As in, we could hear every word they were saying. I mean first time we were there, it was relatively loud but nothing abnormal. I believe I saw a review here that said you may feel a bit out of place since most patrons who dine here are Korean people. But both times we went in, we saw/heard different types of Asian people there as well. So at least for me it was not a concern. Seeing older, authentic Korean people dine here is a positive sign that the food is good. I believe I also saw reviews mentioning the wait staff speaking little English. While their English is limited, I think it's enough that no one should have a problem. And they're generally friendly. I mean the menu has English and you can just point to what you want to order. That said, when it came to ordering I just read the Korean words off the menu since I still remember how to read from back when I took classes. Anyways to start, the Banchan (side dishes) were great. They're some of the tastiest I've had around Philly area. The Kimchi is great also. It was not super spicy, and tasted fresh. Dubu is another place with good Kimchi, but their Kimchi is very spicy. These have been the only two places so far I've experienced with good Kimchi. First time I was here, we got the Haemul Pajeon (seafood pancake) as appetizer. Second time we got the Goon Mandu (pan fried dumplings). The Haemul Pajeon was pretty good. They could have been more generous with the seafood, and it was slightly burnt, but overall the Pajeon is crispy enough and flavor was good. Goon Mandu was quite solid. No complaints there. Main dishes first visit included Samkyupsal (sliced pork belly) and the Ojingeo Dolsot (stone pot bibimbap with squid). Main dishes second visit included Galbi (marinated prime ribs) and the Jaeyuk Dolsot (stone pot bibimbap with stir fried pork). The Samkyupsal was quite good. It had a strong sense of good smoky flavor. I prefer spicy pork belly more as a dish, but this one was still good. The Ojingeo Dolsot was very spicy, but flavor was on point. I have a medium spicy tolerance but this one was a work-out in sweat terms. Galbi was decent. I might have had tastier Galbi at other places, but this one still solid. Jaeyuk Dolsot was similar in terms of spicy level compared to the Ojingeo Dolsot, but for some reason I could tolerate it more. Not sure if I started adapting to spice level or was a bit less spicy this time. Anyway the dish is straight goodness. Though I did feel like the rice beneath the ingredients were a bit overwhelmed by sauce. But that's me nitpicking. Overall good place for solid Korean food. Might not be the most cozy place to dine in, but I think the food is worth it.
